Concern Cymru, for many years, has welcomed applications from Students who are committed to the Christian faith and who are looking for a placement to achieve their counselling qualification.

By having a placement with us, we provide the following:

  • Full insurance for students

  • Continued CPD training on a bi-monthly basis

  • Face to face and online counselling provision available

  • Concern Cymru provides generic support for a wide range of client
    issues.

  • An @concerncymru email address, with full access to Microsoft 365

Please note:

Free supervision is provided throughout your placement and training, on the agreement that you continue to volunteer for Concern Cymru for 2 years post qualification. A minimum of 3 hours a week is recommended.
If you would prefer to commit to placement only, we will charge you £50 a month for supervision.

Next Steps

If you are interested in seeking a placement with us, the process is as follows:

  • Email the Director at: director@concerncymru.org.uk He will then arrange a TEAMS meeting with you to discuss your requirements and to share about the work of Concern Cymru. He will also answer any questions that you may have.

  • If you are then happy to proceed, he will email you the application pack which includes: An application form for yourself, along with the confidentiality bond and Basis of Faith from the Evangelical Alliance for you to sign. He will also include 2 reference forms and one must be a Church leader and the other from someone of your choice.

  • Once all these are emailed back to him, the Director will contact you to arrange an informal TEAMS interview with himself and a supervisor from our service. The interview lasts between 30 mins to an hour.

Within 24 hours of your interview a letter will be sent to you via email, with either an acceptance or rejection of an offer of a placement with us.
